Frequently Asked Questions
What Build Anything is, how to use it, and where its limits are.
The basics
What is Build Anything?
Build Anything is a no-code creation platform that lets you make things for the web just by describing them. You write or speak what you want, and it builds a working app, website, game, or page that runs right in your browser — no coding required.
Who is it for?
Anyone with an idea. You don't need to be a programmer, a designer, or technical at all. If you can describe what you want in plain words, you can build it.
What can I make with it?
Anything that runs in a browser — personal websites, small web apps, interactive tools, games, prototypes, landing pages, dashboards, and more. If you can picture it on a screen, it's worth a try.
Building
How do I start building?
Open the homepage and describe what you want in the prompt box — by typing or by voice. Tap Build and we'll turn your description into a working app you can preview, refine, and keep iterating on.
Do I need to know how to write a good prompt?
No. Start with a simple description and refine from there. The Enhance button can also polish a short idea into a clearer prompt for you, so you don't have to get the wording perfect on the first try.
Can I make changes after it's built?
Yes. Building is a conversation — you can keep asking for changes, additions, and fixes, and your app updates as you go. Nothing is locked in after the first version.
The AI behind it
Which AI models does Build Anything use?
Your apps are built by Anthropic's Claude — the same family of models used for serious software development — which is what turns a plain-English description into real, working code. A separate assistant, powered by OpenAI's GPT models, handles the conversation, polishes your prompts, and generates app icons. You don't have to pick or manage any of it; it's all built in.
Do more expensive plans use better AI?
The free tier uses fast, capable models that are great for most things. Paid plans unlock our most powerful models, which handle bigger and more intricate builds with more nuance.
Privacy & your data
Is my data used to train AI models?
No. We don't use what you build or type to train AI models. To generate your apps, though, your prompts and content are sent to our AI providers, Anthropic and OpenAI, to do the actual work — and their handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policies.
Are my prompts and conversations saved?
Yes. Your building conversations are saved to your account so you can close the tab and pick up right where you left off. They stay tied to your account and aren't public.
Sharing & saving
Where do my creations live?
Each app you build is saved to your account so you can come back, reopen, and keep working on it. Your apps are private to you unless you choose to share them.
Can I share what I build with others?
Yes. Apps you create can be published and shared so other people can open them in their browser — no install required.
Hosting & links
Where are my apps hosted?
We host them for you, automatically. The moment you build or update an app it's deployed and live on the web over secure HTTPS, at no extra cost — no servers to set up, no deploys to run, and nothing to configure.
Does my app get its own link?
Yes. Every app you publish gets a free address on our domain — something like yourapp.buildanything.com — that you can share with anyone. It opens in any browser on any device, with no install.
Do my changes go live automatically?
Yes. When you refine an app, the live version updates to match. You never have to manually re-publish or push anything.
Custom domains
Can I use my own domain name?
Yes. Alongside the free buildanything.com address, paid plans let you put your app on a custom domain like myapp.com. You can buy a brand-new domain right inside Build Anything, or connect one you already own.
How do I buy a domain through Build Anything?
Search for the name you want, and if it's available you can register and pay for it in a few clicks — no separate registrar account needed. We set up all the DNS so it points at your app automatically, with HTTPS.
Can I connect a domain I already own?
Yes. Add the DNS records we give you at your current provider, and once it verifies, your app goes live on your own name.
What about renewals?
Domains you buy through us renew each year, and you can turn auto-renew on or off whenever you like.
Pricing & plans
How much does Build Anything cost?
There's a free tier so you can start building at no cost, plus paid plans that unlock more building, custom domains, and our most capable models. You can see current plans and prices on the plans page.
Do I pay per app, or is it a subscription?
Paid plans are a simple monthly subscription — not per app — so you can build and keep as many apps as you like. What a plan governs is how much building you do each month, not how many projects you have.
How do usage limits and "build credits" work?
Each plan includes a monthly allowance of build credits. Every time you build or refine an app the AI does real work, and that uses a little of your allowance — bigger changes use a bit more than small tweaks. On the free plan you wait for your allowance to refresh each month once it's used up; paid plans let you keep going and simply bill for the extra.
Do custom domains cost extra?
Yes — a domain is billed separately from your plan, since you're registering a real domain name for the year. You'll always see the price before you buy.
Can I change or cancel my plan?
Yes. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel anytime from your account settings.
Limitations
What are the limits of what I can build?
Build Anything focuses on things that run in a web browser. It's great for sites, tools, games, and prototypes, but it isn't meant for native mobile apps, desktop software, or projects that need complex custom backend infrastructure. Very large or highly specialized systems may be better suited to traditional development.
Will it always get my idea right the first time?
Not always. Build Anything is powered by AI, and the first result may not perfectly match what's in your head. That's expected — describe what's off and keep refining, and it gets closer with each pass.
Is it a replacement for professional developers?
It's a way to bring ideas to life quickly and to learn by making, not a replacement for a professional team on large, mission-critical projects. Think of it as the fastest path from idea to something real that you can see, use, and share.
